This year we are changing our format at SCAA in Houston. The attendees at SCAA are comprised mostly of green coffee buyers and some retail coffee stores. It is our belief that our new activities will increase the value of the show for our members and to raise the visibility and perception of 100% Kona Coffee.
In past years we have asked for coffee donations. This year we are offering our members a cupping session. This is the first year that SCAA is providing a cupping facility. We will invite attendees to join us on Saturday April 30th at 10:45 for a custom cupping facilitated by Shawn Steinman of Coffea Consulting. Each session will accommodate 5-7 coffees. The cost of this event is $500.00. In order to defer the cost, the KCC would like it to be self funding; therefore the cost of this event per entry is $100.00.
Members interested in participating in this cupping will need to submit 2 ½ lbs of green coffee that will be professionally roasted by Koa Coffee’s Master Roaster and Q-grader, Ed Bert.
